I am going to cut the grass today - Again! Maybe I will 'weed- eat' a little, too. Life is good! I would love to do some real gardening. My sweet husband is at work, I have tons to do and it is nearly, if not, entirely, spring-time. So, today, its grass and hard work. Like I said, Life is good. Wish me well - the grass is high enough that I may find some lions in the brush.
Note: I mowed for an hour. No lions but a tiger cat, some grass that needs a weed-eater and a lot of mushrooms are under the trees but sadly, no edible ones.
As you all know I am a conservative conservator. Sheryl Crow, a woman I have never heard of before, is suddenly an expert on conservation and environmentalism. She wants women to use less toilet paper - one sheet at a time, this is exactly a rectangle 4inches by 4.5 inches. It is not enough to blow one's nose. As an older woman, as a woman who suffers from irritable bowel syndrome ... I send her a challenge: I will when she does !
I would suggest using enough toilet paper to clean one's self is better than attracting flies or taking a bath every few hours.
What has happened to our country? - entertainers and fools are taking over the place - all I have to say is that Sheryl Crow to try living somewhere where life isn't as comfortable as it is here in the U.S.A. ! She needs a honest dose of reality & hard work because she is living in a fantasy life, a life of luxury and self-importance and needs to be taken down a few pegs. My suggestion is go to Africa where people suffer awful diseases, such as dysentery because they don't have decent toilets, sanitation and toilet paper!
here is a report of her silly remarks! Also, it seems that she doesn't quite grasp that if she wants to have a smaller carbon footprint maybe she needs to stop moving around quite so much.
Her carbon footprint trends towards Bigfoot's! Do you notice its always the rich and the self-aggrandizing that wants the rest of us to live humbler lives ? I would suggest they need to find their inner humility and understand that their way-of-life is exceptional and blessed. The majority in this country work very hard and do not have the' footprints' of wealthy.
I also have a suggestion for the entire entertainment industry : If you are actually convinced this is the end times of the Earth why don't you stop entertaining us? No more singing, no more traveling, no more movies or T.V. (think of all the resources used in just one Hollywood movie! : the wood, paper, gasoline, electricity and film used in ONE movie! ) Think about all the musicians and their restless travels with all kinds of vehicles, including planes, think about all the plastics in the CDs they sell - allof it is a massive amount of unnecessary waste. If They are so worried about the world shouldn't the Entertainment industries cease to exist - why entertain a world that is ending soon? Entertainment isn't a need or a necessity - it is a luxury. When my husband is out of work the first thing on the list to' go' is entertainment !
They think they are important. They have the rights the rest of us don't deserve. (Instead of everyone being equal as it was intended to be !!) Whether its Rosie O'Donnel who wants to take our weapons from us while she has personal guards and body Guards or Sheryl Crow who is extremely rich and travels with a whole caravan of vehicles, yet, wants to control how much toilet paper we use, or Liberal politicians, many of whom own large homes, cars etc. (Nancy Pelosi is a very rich woman and is part owner of a vineyard.) but wants to
TAX my husband and me higher and further than ever, before, so we can't save for our retirement. Or Mr. Al Gore who owns a house many times the size of mine, yet, wants me to use less electricity ! - it's always the same ... they are better than us, wiser, smarter, more famous, superior, better educated - whatever... so they have the right to tell the rest of us what to do - or that is how they see it. What do I dislike about these people? They like to ban things : trans-fat, smoking, obesity, guns, conservatism, traditional light bulbs, etc. And, now, add toilet paper to the very long list of things that they want to ban!
If you don't want to smoke, eat fat, be fat, own a gun, be a conservative, or use traditional light bulbs or toilet paper, go ahead and live the way you wish but leave my freedoms alone.
BUT this isn't what America is supposed to be - we are not supposed to have classes of people superior to all other groups of people... Yes, it is good and fine to excel, and being rich should be considered a blessing and achievement of all kinds is admirable... what I don't like is when they think they are superior to the rest of us and that anyone who disagrees with them is an ignorant red neck, an extremist conservative. I do not envy the rich because I am rich in the things I value most : God & Love, my husband, cats, books, needlework and home I only wish they would be a little humble in their fancy homes and LEAVE us alone.
We should all be equal. No one should be superior to the rest. Our country was established to ensure our
God Given Rights... We were born with the rights of 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..."
Of all the things that make America unique it is our concept that The Rights of man are God- Given that makes us most unique. For centuries, in truth, during the entire history of the Earth, rights were given to the majority by the minority i.e. the Aristocracy - and could be removed, altered and denied by that aristocracy any time it decided it was time to do so! Our entertainers now consider themselves our aristocracy and they want to play a role that is not theirs to play in our society.
They want to be like the Church Hierarchy in the Middle Ages wearing silk and jewels in halls of golden luxury, while telling the rest of us to live humbly and focus on 'higher things' (not heaven, this time, but the good of the Earth!) They wish the rest of us to surrender everything we have gained since the 1600's & wear rough wool in one room huts without decent light & toilet paper ! To this I would add that they will feel secure in their luxury because they can afford carbon credits while the rest of us are too poor to pay for such indulgences (if you do not know the history of indulgences do some research. ) The metaphor is nearly complete. I left one church because I wanted to be free of hierarchy - I will not join the church of the Earth Environmentalists with its priest, Al Gore and its priestess, Sheryl Crow, bowing before the altar of global warming for the same reason - If I do right let it come from own heart.
I say no. I will do what I can for the Earth, I always have, but no one will force me to do it. I am a free woman.
