Somehow, I am skeptical.. really skeptical... think of how vulnerable they would have been to attack - unless we got their locomotion wrong, too - and no armor, can't run and how long did it take them to take off?

I believe it. Dinos hatched oodles of eggs at a time, typically. So that would suggest a high die off rate. Pterosaurs could have filled the hawk/eagle niche.

Good point there, very good point... but, Lordy, how did they ever evolve into walking predators?... and, here, is another thing ... if they fed off of relatively small vermin, Stacie, why grow so big? you know as well as I, that animals fill niche. The reason my cat isn't 200 lbs. is because his big cousin filled the niche of big predator - he filled the niche little predator so he's smaller (Thank God, can you imagine the food bills or ... a 200 lb. cat sitting on my lap!!?) - why be one of the largest flying reptiles of all time if you go walking on the ground and eat small vermin - just as easy to be the size of lets say a modern eagle or hawk and do the exact same thing. The Quasies (nickname) were enormous by any modern standard... why be so big ? I can imagine that this was an alternative food eating method and I will concede I am but a humble housewife.. but, well??
Anybody got a time machine in their back pocket? I got to see this to believe it! And yes, these guys make their money off of their knowledge..but, I am glad I'm not the movie maker who is going to show this in a documentary!
