Kathy Mary's Amethyst Rose

Blog EntrySummer and the feeling is GOOOO--OOO---DDD Jun 25, '08 8:19 PM
for everyone
They are predicting temperatures in the 80's tomorrow. OH !! quiet  my rapidly  beating heart, I am going to so enjoy myself. No sleeve shirts, dinner on the Patio, a real reason not to work... (It's too hot, honey, I'll do it tomorrow after you leave for work!) Ah !

And, yes, folks -- that is the MOUNTAIN... as in Mt. Rainier. Leon took it on one of his Harley rides down to the mountain.

Still cleaning out roses - wait, let me rephrase that - I am weeding and feeding the rose bushes and may actually see a few blooms this year.. and I must mow the back lawn, Leon did his half last night. I went shopping today for a long sleeve blue jean jacket to wear on the Harley -- Leon's been wanting to see me on the back of that bike for a good two years. I don't know if I am going to find one this year.. so I may just have to wait and get down to 120 (pounds) before getting on the Harley.

I finished the large pink and maroon rug and will take pictures of it tomorrow -- I finished it nicely with a maroon and green shell pattern - I like it a lot and have to clean the dining room floor and lay it under the table.

Well by for now -- no great thoughts just a little news.

I have found, Carlo that every locality I have ever lived had its own separate beauty. This place has the mountains but it over populated and it rains for an average of 10 months per year. We have at the most 2 months of warm, sunny weather. This morning when I woke it was 50 degrees and cloudy (it could have been any of the last 10 months!) - now its about 70 and partly sunny - tomorrow promises to be what most people mean by the word summer - 80 and clear. I loved Virginia and lived there - the old, old mountains and the incredible history of the place won my love and loyalty. Even New York State had its' lovely places. As for the Sea and the hot, steamy south - Loved it too when I visited it as a young woman--- As for hurricanes - I experienced oh, 4 of them in my life, maybe, 5? Never been in one that was a true disaster, though, just really, really scary and wonderfully dramatic - walked a sea wall with my mom in 1966 or so.. the hurricane skirted the Hampton Roads area but the sea was as high as I ever saw it. She shared my love of the drama of the earth, sky and water and walked with me. And, yes, they can be deadly -- just never had to face that kind.
